Huggies is one of the most popular diaper brands. The recently updated Huggies Snug and Dry baby diapers are an affordable option if you are loyal to the Huggies brand. They are available in sizes newborn through size six, and today we are reviewing a bag of size three. Currently, they are available in quantities of 31, 100, 120, 168, 210, with prices per bag ranging from $7.99 to $42.00 for the extra-large box. This equates to about 26 cents per change for the small bag (Jumbo) and 23 cents for quantities above 100.
Looking at the outer shell, we really liked the design. It features Disney's Mickey Mouse with red and grey stars. Oddly, we found only one design in this bag when typically, two or more designs are found in other brands. Much like other Huggies, the size indicator is found on both sides of the diaper and they include the word “back” to indicate orientation. Although the design is a little busy, we like that there is a gap for the wetness indicator. This really makes it easy to see when a change is needed, even in a low-light room.
Although the wings do not have much stretch to them (about a quarter-inch), the back waistline has a large amount of stretch to it, reaching out to 9.5 inches. This is the largest measured amongst other brands to date. Due to lack of stretch in the rear wings and given their short length, the total width tab to tab is below average at 13.75 inches. This is slightly more than other Huggies branded diapers but still over an inch less than average. A unique feature of the Snug and Dry diaper is the front wings. They are actually part of the outer shell of the diaper versus an additional piece of cloth bonded to the outer shell. Because of this, the front wings are the tallest measured to date, and we found it very easy to wrap them around our baby's waist. The sticky tabs are very flexible and soft to the touch. We found that they have excellent performance when adhering to the tab landing zone with good performance when sticking them to other parts of the body.
The absorbent layer is noticeably soft to the touch and is one of the thickest diapers tested at just under a quarter-inch thick. The padding is contoured with extra-wide absorbent padding in the front and back, measuring at 4.5 inches. The crotch is much narrower at just 3 inches. We found the absorbent length to be longer than average at 12.5 inches, with the padding extending up to 1.25 inches of the front waistline and 3.25 inches from the rear waistline. There is an extra absorbent blue layer found in the front third of the diaper. It has a slightly wavy texture to it that helps stop side leaks while pulling in moisture. The standing leg gathers run just short of the total length of the padding at 11 inches and is tall at 1.5 inches.
For our moisture tests, we found the top sheet took 16.50 seconds to absorb 50ml below the top sheet. This is about average when comparing absorbency performance to other brands. We found that after moisture was absorbed it did not spread well across the padding like other brands and we feel that this may be why it took so long (56 seconds) to absorb the second 50ml. After our tests, the top sheet scored an average dryness rating when compared to other manufacturers. Total absorbency is excellent at 31.6 oz (895 ml) scoring much higher than average.

We like the Disney designs and the easy to see wetness indicator. The rear waistline is very stretchy and the sticky tabs hold extremely well to the tape landing zone. They are hypoallergenic, do not have fragrance, lotion, parabens, elemental chlorine and natural rubber latex.
Although thicker than other brands, the top sheet only scored average results in terms of dryness. It also took much more time to absorb moisture below the top sheet than other brands.
