This is a comprehensive review of the All Good brand baby diaper. All Good is a new product line from Proctor and Gamble, also known as P and G, which produces both Luvs and Pampers diapers. Today we bought a bag of 29 for $8.97 from our local Walmart. These are available in every size except newborn and size 7 and are priced slightly higher than Pampers Baby Dry. Currently, you can buy quantities of 29, 88, and 168 with prices ranging from 31 cents all the way down to 24 cents per unit when you purchase a large box of 168.
The outer shell is soft to the touch and has two outer designs referred to as "Stellar Styles". Much like the bold outer packaging that’s all black with white lettering, the outer shell features a simple pattern of black dots on a white background. The only exception to this is the yellow wetness indicator that runs down the center. We found the wetness indicator changed from yellow to blue when wet and was easy to read amongst the outer pattern. Unlike other brands, All Good diapers do not have front/back indicators. Instead, they have the All Good logo on the front tape landing zone. They also do not indicate size like other diaper brands. If you purchase multiple sizes, you will want to leave them in their bags so you do not lose track of the size.
Starting from the back, the rear waist line does not have any stretch to it unlike other brands. Instead, the All Good diapers rely on super stretchy rear wings to ensure a good fit when they are wrapped around your baby’s waist. The rear wings are very soft to the touch and are tall at three inches in height. We found the fastening tabs are shorter then other brands but they do a great job at securing to the front landing zone as well as the outer body of the diaper. Just like other manufacturers, the sticky tabs only have average performance when sticking to the front wings as they are not really intended to stick to them. The front wings are the tallest measured to date and are also much longer than other brands. Larger front wings really do help with overall fit when securing the diaper to your baby.
The absorbent padding is nearly the exact same length and width as other Procter and Gamble diaper brands such a Luvs and Pampers. Overall the length is short at just 10.5 inches where all other brands average around 12 inches in total length. Because of this the back of the diaper has no absorbent padding for the last 4.25 inches. This is the biggest gap between the rear waistline and the start of the padding measured to date. As for width it is slightly narrower than average at 3.5 inches. Thickness is on average with other brands at 0.2 of an inch and the padding feels soft to the touch. We like that All Good does not use any perfumes to mask odor and overall there is no other smell to the product.
Absorbency performance is excellent! During our tests we found that moisture was pulled under the top sheet much faster than other brands. During the second 50 ml test the All Good diaper absorbed faster than any other diaper tested to date! It did this by distributing the moisture across the entire absorbent padding unlike other brands where moisture pools up in only one area. Looking at the dryness of the top sheet after our moisture tests we found that the top sheet scored average results in terms of total dryness. The standing leak guards are average in height and length at 1.5 inches tall and 9.5 inches in length.
This is the only diaper to feature a black and white theme. It is really nice to see a product that distributes moisture across the entire padding.
Super fast and efficient absorbent padding. We like that P and G are big on donating and recycling. With every purchase of a box of All Good diapers, they donate a day's worth of diapers to a family in need. They also have excellent recycling and zero waste to landfill programs as part of this specific line of baby diapers. No fragrance, parabens, and latex.
Short absorbent padding in back that is typical with the PG brands. On the pricier side at 31 cents apiece.
